Pronunciation for Text to Speech

You can now add custom pronunciation for text to speech. Learn how to do this with the steps below. This features is for Enterprise and Agency users only.

Steps

  1. When adding dialogue for text to speech, highlight the word that you would like to add pronunciation to. 

2. A prompt will appear to Add pronunciation. 

3. Input the phonetic spelling of the word to serve as the custom pronunciation. For additional guidance on phonetic spelling, click here.

4. If additional adjustments need to be made, re-iterate the spelling and listen to the preview again. Once the pronunciation is satisfactory, click the apply button (orange arrow button). 

5. The word will now have a custom pronunciation and be highlighted in the text box with the phonetic spelling. 

6. Proceed to generate your text to speech track. 


Pronunciation Library

To create the pronunciation library, start with adding text to speech dialogue, then click on Pronunciations.

A window will appear, click ADD PRONUNCIATION.

Next, enter the text for the word, then enter the pronunciation of that word. Use the link for tips on pronunciation if assistance is needed. 




Press the play button to preview the pronunciation.

If the pronunciation is accurate, press SAVE.

To add more pronunciations, click the Add icon and continue to add to your library. 

Once words have been added to the pronunciation library, those words will appear when used for Text to Speech. 


Tips and Other Considerations

  • This feature is for Enterprise and Agency users only.
  • Previewing the custom pronunciation inside the custom pronunciation widget will not cost any credits.
  • Credit costs for generating the full TTS audio will be according to what voice provider the user chooses:
    • Ultra High Quality Voices (Google and WS): 5 credits per 10 TTS characters
    • High and Standard Quality (Azure, AWS): 1 credit per 10 TTS characters 
  • Pronunciation is only available in text to speech dialog in Vyond Studio. This feature is not available through the text to speech individual page, AI Avatar page, Vyond Go and Quick Edit.
  • Custom pronunciations can only be added to words one word at a time.
  • Custom pronunciations can only be added to words one script at a time.
