How do I move a prop behind another prop or character? July 24, 2024 22:46 Updated When a new asset is added to the stage, it creates a new layer on the stage. Props are able to be moved forward, or backward, along these layers using the Order tool. This article will cover: Keyboard shortcuts Using the stage Using the Asset View panel The Order section is located in our asset contextual menu, which is accessed by right-clicking an asset on the stage. Alternatively, the same options can also be found in the top toolbar within the Arrange tab (layered squares icon). All ordering actions can also be done using keyboard shortcuts. Below are all movement options available in the Order section. Name Action Keyboard Shortcut Move Forward Moves the asset forward by one layer Cmd + ↑ / Ctrl + ↑ Move Backward Moves asset backward by one layer Cmd + ↓ / Ctrl + ↓ Bring to Front Moves asset to the layer furthest forward Cmd + Shift + ↑ / Ctrl + Shift + ↑ Send to Back Moves asset to the layer furthest backward Cmd + Shift + ↓ / Ctrl + Shift + ↓ Using the stage 1) Select a prop on the stage. 2) Right-click on the prop and select Order from the contextual menu. 3) Choose an option from the Order section. Please note, if the asset is at the frontmost layer, or furthest layer back, some movement options will be greyed out. (Prop sent to back layer) Using the Asset View panel 1) Open the Asset View panel located above the timeline. 2) Select a prop thumbnail from the panel. The prop thumbnail will be outlined in orange and will also be selected on the stage. 3) Right-click on the prop thumbnail to open the contextual menu and choose an ordering option.
