Can I export a Vyond video with a transparent background?

Vyond supports transparent backgrounds for projects exported as WebM or GIF files. 

Follow the steps below how to learn more. 

Removing background from scene(s)

1. Within the Background panel there is an option for "Transparent," which will remove the background from a scene when it is selected. 

2. Once selected, the background will be made transparent, but will show in the Studio as a light checkered pattern. 

3. Repeat as needed for individual scenes, or use bulk editing in the timeline and make the backgrounds for an entire video transparent. 

Exporting with transparent background

1. Open the Download panel. 

2. With the panel open, select either the .webm format, or the .gif format to enable transparent backgrounds. 

3. Click Generate to begin the download process. 

Note: 

Exporting an MP4 with transparent backgrounds will result in them showing as white rather than transparent.

Other Considerations

For GIF file downloads, when using a transparent background, the opacity of the background may impact how transparent or opaque the background looks. GIFs do not always support partial transparency. We recommend using a WEBM file as the background.
