It is possible to align props and characters to boundaries or other assets using the reference lines in the video maker. As assets are moved closer to another one, there is a red line indicating that the prop is being aligned to the other asset. Assets can align to top, center or bottom.
Individual or grouped assets can also align to the scene. Green lines appear when the asset is placed in the center of the scene.
Grid lines can also be used to better align objects. The standard “Rule of thirds” guidelines allow easier alignment on stage.
Areas of a video that can be seen on different size screens to ensure that certain things like titles and actions don't get cut off when viewing the video are called Safe Area lines.
- Action Safe: Action safe is a designated area inside a video frame in which you could place important elements (e.g. characters, props, actions) without worrying about them getting cut off by the edges of the screen.
- Title Safe: Title safe is a designated area inside a video frame in which you could place text without worrying about the words getting cut off by the edges of the screen.
More information on grid lines and safe areas can be found here.
Some alternatives to aligning assets are as follows:
a) Use the background "No Signal" (Business Friendly style) and align multiple assets to the grid.
b) Create a PNG image with a custom grid and import it into Vyond Studio to use it as reference.
